There isn't a sign that would take anytime
to stand and read clearly out loud
there are no true instructions
that prevent want and destruction
or knowledge that could be endowed
There is only sorrow that continues tomorrow
then days and months and maybe some years
only god gives the answer to those who are cancers
and revel in buckets of fear
No way or direction can be gained from detection
of investiture, appointment or rank
when ones left to be lonely
the time that turns slowly
will be waiting to also be sank
No sweet sign of relief in a solid belief
could lift up a spirit in doubt
through tears in sore eyes
the cries and the whys
need kicking and then throwing out
Just flying it solo to no place that you know
is harder to do than imagine
new plains to ride but nowhere to hide
from death and it's uncaring bludgeon
Why feel this confusion it isn't illusion
that life just ends without pause
no spaces reserved for the young or absurd
that leaves us all so unassured
Relate to life's gambit then cheat it and gamble it
spend it as if you understand
nothing really explains why we need so much pain
in this unsteady life that we plan
The end of us stays, it takes us away
swallows us into it's earth
there's only one thing to do
when the time comes for you
state what your time here was worth.
