Hope Poem by Alexander Thomas

Hope

I chose the road dark and lonely,
In search of you and you only,
I sold all for an unburdened fate,
Yet I found the heart carries the heaviest weight,
A long and treacherous path,
Straight into the storm of God's wrath,
Deep into the desert I went,
But still my soul would not repent,
To lose it all but find a smile,
Is worth more than each and every mile,
To see a pair of beaming eyes,
Justifies all the years painful cries,
I lost hope that I would ever see,
The beauty of our love be free,
But now we are one in embrace,
All that time was just a race,
To stop time with a kiss,
And flood light into the abyss.
