Heaven Poem by Alexander Thomas

Heaven

I would build you a house of shells and gather the stars to light it,
I would turn sand into glass in all the colours of the rainbow to make blazing windows,
It would be furnished by curious natural objects of awe,
The birds would feather your bed and fill our home with song,
Animals would be welcome with joy and embrace,
We would feast on a bountiful buffet of nature's fruits,
I would cloth you with all the silks of the sea for an endless summer,
We would run and play on the beach and build great palaces in the sand,
We would bathe in hot, glistening waters,
I would cuddle, caress and undress you,
We would make love under a meditative moon,
I would light a fire of driftwood that would burn with all the warmth of our hearts,
We would be soothed to sleep by the gentle swishing of the sea,
And would dream of this as this would be our heaven.
