Convert the mind into a lantern
Let hope be inside ever sparkling
When stormy thoughts cause concern
To the lantern please hopefully cling
Let not setbacks cause anxiety
Let mind remain ever unscathed
When life is hit by a calamity
In patience let heart be swathed
Wild animals should be tamed
One such animal is bad-temper
When by anger mind is flamed
It brings misery up to December
Abut passing clouds Sun has studied
Moon remains cool though badly burnt
Air has no caste, color or creed
The ground bravely bears the brunt
Without any prolonged speeches
Without any class-room prisons
The best lessons Nature teaches
It is the wise who carefully listens
Peace is a Divine language
Prayer and effort are its Alphabets
It can be learnt easily at any age
So that defeats impose no threats
Of all the objects in life-menu
Nobly aiming is the best object
Mind should be a kamadhenu
Until death comes to object
Look not for solace somewhere else
To purify the conscience sincerely weep
Please make Heavens out of Hells
By allowing fears to ever sleep
Happiness is under our own feet
But by ignorance it is being trampled
Our thoughts will ever smell sweet
If life and contentment are stapled
Fate or ill-luck can never tantalize
If our part of the job is well-done
God’s help comes ever in disguise
To help us shoulder every burden.
