Hope Served Us Up Poem by Dean Meredith

Hope Served Us Up

She was something more than expected
In my little hallway of shame
Some say there might have been song
Some say she was lovelier than spring

Perfect except for the pollen
And my infernal allergies
She jumped right up
Higher than my shadow

I coaxed her down
Not too much to fear here, I say
Except for me and her
And that infernal shadow

I was closer to her
Than either one of us believed
I knew I was registering
Her face quite plainly told me

Much pleasure much shame
When pleasure should have been the winner
She counselled me for wanting it
I appreciated her resistance

At my sanguine feast
Her strawberry delights hopefully for sweets
I felt in control
She had me where she wanted

My Taroc pack intact
Her desires half a-glow
She was terribly exciting
I was there I should know
