Hopkins Poem by Justin Gildow

Hopkins

He sits in a padded cell
Slightly insane
He serves a purpose for
the dark lord
Yet, I know
He's the only one who can
help me
He's the only one who can
help me track down the dark
lord

He eats the fly I give him
that was stuck on a sugar
cube inside a box of matches
Still that's not enough for
him
I have a very important item
in my possession that he wants
He says that he'll trust me and
help me if I give it to him
With nothing else to lose
And needing all the help I can
get
I give it to him
Hoping that this decision is
something I won't regret

In return, he gives me his most
prized possession
Telling me that it'll serve me
well
In my journey
And in my travels
He's impressed with my confidence
He's impressed with my bravery

Time has passed on for far too
long
It's time for me to continue on
Continue on my journey
Hopkins tells me we'll see each
other again
He tells me we'll cross paths
again
I await that moment in time
