Horse Affection Poem by Daniel Miltz

Horse Affection

Recently I went to a friend's farm
And made face to face taction
With his gentle hoofed filly
Who was trying to lick me silly

I ask, why horses place
Their noses in your face
My friend told me simply
Horses are fond, aplenty

They show care for one another
By blowing into nostrils of each other
As this horse, trying to show affection
If I were another horse, mistaken

You see them on occasion gather
In the wild grooming each other
By putting their noses together
Sharing the air and doting vapor
