Hourglass Poem by Lara wolf

trapped in this hourglass u drown me
dropp by drop. grain by grain.
u fill me yet leave me empty.
i whimper helplessly. i cant escape
but why would i want to leave this sunny prison?
u whisper smiling 'it’s like a beach,
eternal summer.'
your words soft as silk. cut like knives.
i shudder. u believe it. take it for truth
as fools take pyrite for gold
u giggle giddily- 'what's the difference they both shine...'
u keep me alive as you kill me.
ur dastardly daggers are filled with life's elixir
my eyes laced by sand gaze out uncomfortably upon you
and you smile.
for you are me and i am not surprised.
i laugh gushing tears and cry 'so it goes...'
