what happened to that life filled smile?
those sparkling eyes
innocence; it fades so fast
and you begin to wounder if it was every really there in the first place.
what happened to that happy little girl
filled with the joy of a promising future
so far away it seemed like a fairytale-
she was in and she was her own prince.
after all when had she ever been the type
to wait around in the darkness for some hero
who may never come
what happened to her sense of independance?
did she smoke herself dumb?
cry herself dry?

then what is it she is so afriad of?
