...Hourglass... Poem by Kelly Marks

...Hourglass...

Rating: 5.0

The sands of time have turned
Glued to the table
Without another chance
Precious tiny grains flow steady
Without a second glance
And time goes on.

Sand lines the edges of the hourglass base
As she lives her life
Making the best of each speck
Of each moment
As it passes through the glass chamber
And time goes on.

It is half full
Or half empty
Depending on perspective
But she’s still optimistic
Living her days to the fullest
And time goes on.

Time is running out
Breath is running out
She has learned
She has lived
She has loved
And time goes on.

The top is empty
The bottom is full
Her lungs are empty
Her life was full
And time goes on.
Though she is gone.

A well thought out piece Kelly. Structured, good word choice and flowing. Neat.
