Let me tell you the story of Birthday
When it was not ‘Happy Birthday ‘ - just birthday
There were no singing and dancing,
No ribbons or cakes
Everything was dull and usual,
Not even hugs or hand shakes

Then came Mr. Happy
Drumming and roaring,
Cheering and chanting
Handing out gifts and greetings
Everyone he met

Seeing birthday glum and said
Head down, shoulders sagged
Birthday got the best present of them all
Happy and he became one
And called ‘Happy Birthday' from now on.
