How Can Anyone Love A Pebble In Their Shoe?

Rating: 4.5

I saw your look of disgust
I ate up your lies
For that I do not trust

My name whispered at night
Only because you need me to
Do something right

You raised your hand in anger
I flinch away in surprise
You say you wish I was tamer

From your cold heart I just knew
Even on a good day
How can anyone love a pebble in their shoe?

The last line is stunningly brilliant. This line alone makes this a 9 in my view. Poetry, is all about summing something up in as few words as possible. You did it here young lady. Congratulations! I'm jealous of that line. HaHa! GW62
