How Do I Choose Poem by Ellie Cook

How Do I Choose

How do I choose

In the depths of my heart, filled with uncertainty and empty of trust
You comfort me with the possibility of you
Do I accept you, do I run from you, do I run from my lust for you
How do I choose with so much to loose

I know in the deepest depth of knowing, it cannot be. Love is never found this way
I should have gone when you said, “stay”.
I watch you take my heart knowing you will tear it apart
I told myself it would be this way, I told myself from the start
How do I choose with so much to loose

Yes, in the deepest depth I will know, I will see,
I watch as witness to your whispered promises
Knowing hearts are crushed this way
How do I choose with so much to loose

Never a lie has cross your lips you say to me, never a lie from the start
I feel the fool over you, believing in the impossible
You say they broke you, broke your heart
And all I want is to hold you, to hold your heart
How do I choose with so much to loose

Is it really you or will heartache come crashing through
In the deepest depths, did my heart do the lying that I hear
For what promises do you really whisper when you said, “stay”
How do I choose with so much to loose

I choose You
