The Love Of A Man Poem by Ellie Cook

The Love Of A Man

The love of a Man
The wondering of when it will be the last time I will be loved
The last time I was touched
The last time I was desired
The last time I saw lust in a man eyes for me,
Was it the Last time
It’s a funny thing, the wanting of a man’s love
How rich and strong and powerful it is
Seeking it out and wondering if it will ever come to me again
This cold and mournful place of where the last time lives
The not knowing if it has come already
Did it stand before me and I not know it as it turned away
Did I let it leave my side as I was unaware it might never return
Was I asleep when it last touched me
Was I not listening the last time it spoke of desire for me
When was the last time it said “I love you”
To have the love of a man, to have him next to me
To be a part of him, to be cherished by him
To love and honor him
Might I discover that he is just outside the door
Will I open it

A very beautiful poem and I would suggest you open the door because from your writings there appears to be much love for the one knocking at your door. It will happen. Good Write. Your friend Lynn
