How Gentle The Sigh Poem by Catherine Casey

How Gentle The Sigh

How gentle the sigh,
Of a babe in your arms.
How radiant the love
In your heart.

Chorus

Yahweh our God.
Yahweh our Father.
Yahweh compassionate one.

How safe is a child,
As he walks in your way.
How tender your
Steadying hand.

How safe is a man,
As he reaches for you.
How swiftly returned
Your embrace.

How old is the tear
Of repentant mankind.
How patient your
Merciful love.

How needy are we
Of our Jesus the king.
How precious the blood
That he shed.

How worthy of praise,
Is the son of our God.
How love has been
Lavished on us.
