How Lovely To Sit On A Nice Sunny Day Poem by Francis Duggan

How Lovely To Sit On A Nice Sunny Day

How lovely to sit on a nice sunny day
On the white sands of Stingray Beach of Old Lady Bay
In Warrnambool where the Merri waters flow into the sea
An Earthly Utopia it does seem to me
In a beautiful place in beautiful Warrnambool
Children and adults lay in the shallows of the river to keep cool
Where in the Summer holiday time in the warmth of January
People of many Nations enjoying the sunshine one does see
Many races in their shades of white, black and brown
One does see near the ocean by Warrnambool Town
A nice place to live in and grow old and gray
And a nice place to visit for a holiday
Where the Merri waters move silent and slow
As into the great Pacific it does flow.
