Her dreams lie scattered
all around the living room
where she has fallen
asleep & still sleeps
oblivious of my tip-toeing
through her dreams
as I tidy up her thoughts
and they form like a speech
bubble above her
like the cartoon
(turned down)
playing on the telly.
She turns over
& snores on her belly
face squashed
unflatteringly against the pillow
her naked bum
uncovered by this latest turn.
I smile
& turn away
knowing how lucky I am
to love her.
