How May I Tell Others? Poem by Luke Easter

How May I Tell Others?

Things aren’t going so well today,
The wind is still not blowing my way,
Again I’ll spend the night in the dark blue sea,
But this time Lord I’ll pray to Thee.

All these gadgets from modern man,
I still have yet to hatch a plan,
To right this ship back on land,
I need Your help; I’ve done all I can.

Barring my soul to You for all that it’s worth,
The good, the bad of all happiness and hurt.
You already know the story from before I was born,
But I’ll start tonight and be finished by morn.

Then I laid it all out,
At sunrise He said to me,
This is what I wanted to hear,
Confessing your soul has set you free,

Not for favors like wealth and fame,
However, many do ask daily in Jesus’ name.
I am thinking of something more permanently,
Coming home to spend forever with Me.

Now that in my mind,
Your message has been heard,
How can I notify mankind?
What may I do to spread the word?

My son it’s been spread by many,
For well over two centuries,
Do you really think?
You, others will believe?

A couple maybe three my Father,
Is all that it will take,
Then they can spread the word,
And four or five we’ll make.

There’s Vickie, TulsaButterfly, Jeff Ricky,
They are all deep into Christian poetry,
Like a falling stack of Dominos they see,
Long before anyone ever heard from me.

My sister Kenya Banks is another,
Who daily loves to spread the word,
Striving to be like Jesus our Elder Brother,
The Gospel most certainly has to be heard.

Oh yeah, how about Minister Clark?
Whom I watched a game with today,
He loves to spread Your message,
In his very own unique way.

I love to hear him preach,
With that deep southern drawl,
Sending the good news of the gospel,
Not just to one but too all.

I know that You have a Master plan,
I just want to do all that I can,
Being stranded in the middle of the see,
Has made me see things more clearly.

And not only by the way we talk,
Surely people notice our Christian walk,
Long before we’re able to speak & be heard,
Are we really living out Jesus’ biblical word.

I feel the breeze and hurry to set sail,
Hey, just up ahead it’s land I can tell,
Franticly beating my heart won’t stop,
Finally finding good use for the laptop.

Spent all this money and the optional bag,
Carrying it around all day was such a drag,
I’ll use it to write the gift bestowed upon me,
Spreading the message through rhyme poetry.
