How To Succeed In Your Career By A Genteel Englishwoman Who Has Seen It Happen Many Times

Rating: 5.0

Listen, Aunty Wemdy's going to give career advice
To help you move yourself along fast up the greasy pole,
You may be shocked and some of it may not seem very nice,
Worry not, for it will help you reach your career goal.

First of all make sure you do what's in your comfort zone,
Try to be a specialist, bring details to the fore,
Never ever speculate, from facts you mustn't roam,
Creativity let pass, prefer to be a bore.

Cultivate acquaintances who'll help you on your way,
Curate with care, pay attention to your sycophants,
Don't forget those crony peers, they'll only good things say,
Promote and scratch each other's backs, you mustn't miss a chance.

Once you've lined up all those ducks, you're ready for the prize,
Fame alone won't do because the ego must be fed,
Aim to make a lot of dough, you must be moneywise,
Choose your timing carefully to maximise the bread.

Remember if by chance you come upon an obstacle
That you can play your hidden card, that 'Tienanmen thing'.
Ruthlessly make sure you crush impediments to rubble,
Only seek encounters which will give you bling and zing.

Make connections and be sure to choose the correct spouse,
Pedigreed sufficiently to open the right doors,
Conversation? Not too much but not a country mouse,
Protect your royalties when you set out that prenup clause.

If you want to bookmark this, to copy or to save,
Please do, it isn't copyright, I wouldn't think to sue,
Altruistic as I am, a fee I choose to waive,
Observations like mine shared may make your dream come true.
