How Vain That Sad Sun Poem by Meghan

How Vain That Sad Sun

Rating: 5.0

how vain that sad sun
as he wallows in his glory
radiating his exuberant flash
stealing the daytime show
night reminisces of the moonlight's glow
but who is awake to see it?
the glowing orb of fire
always ends the day with a bang
a sunset to capture every camera's eyes
gazing at himself
all day, every day
the sea, it seems, is his mirror
reflecting power and might divine
oh how vain that sad sun
stifling the moon to a mere dim existence
his approach relentless and persistent
stubborn and resistant
to end his daytime parade
during the thin hours of the night
he bathes in the ocean
floating in self absorbtion
glazing his ego evermore
and I say, how vain that sad sun
