How We Learnt To Drift Along Poem by Preena Mathew

How We Learnt To Drift Along

Rating: 5.0

How we learnt to drift along
When the waters have tested us so hard
It's not easy to wade through
Still we walk with no clue
That we might be shocked with a croc somewhere
We know but still some of us dare

How we learnt to drift along
When the waters have tested us for so long
Every hour seems like a day
Little things we wish they last longer
In those few days of dismay

How we prayed the water drifts away
And learnt to endure just for the day
Was that so easy....could never say..
All seemed faded and dull
The darkness and shortage brought everything to lull

How we learnt to drift along
And thank God for all small things
A sip of water seems priceless today
Don't we know the waters have made us even more strong...
How we learnt to drift along..
How we learnt to drift along.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Bad days make us strong. Easy to say in hindsight, but they do. A good poem about a dreadful experience in a waterlogged city, fearing every moment that a ‘croc' may appear… top score
