How Will I Know Poem by Arndt Stelter

How Will I Know

I hear the laughter from a time long gone,
A haunting song that sways the restless air;
I search for self as fading dusk moves on,
Then lose myself in vanishing colors there.

When others dream beneath soft sleep's veil,
I wake to stars that shimmer deep and wide,
A child of night, where shadows silently sail—
In darkness, secrets and lost echoes hide.

Is it here or is it there, is it always and everywhere.
Or is it lost, forever gone, or is it here where I belong.
Was it a rhyme or just in a row.
How will I know - how will I know - which way to go...

All things begin in endless endless hours,
From dawnless twilight formed by ageless grace;
Yet slip away like petals turned to flowers—
Past's silent hands erase what time would chase.

Is it here or is it there, is it always and everywhere.
Or is it lost, forever gone, or is it here where I belong.
Was it a rhyme or just in a row.
How will I know - how will I know - which way to go...

When darkness blooms to life beyond the moon,
I wander further through eternal sighs;
A traveler trapped between sleep's fading tune,
Bound by dreams beneath unending skies.

Was it a rhyme or just in a row.
How will I know - how will I know - which way to go...
