How You'Ve Restored My Heart Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

How You'Ve Restored My Heart

You could hear my inner cries
but you don't see the pain within my eyes
I'm scared of lonely
Just want someone to be the one and only
You've caught me in your embrace
Our eyes would meet, now face-to-face
solid, this attraction becomes concrete

And you would comfort me throughout the night
Shown me such kindness as
my heart sends out a warm invite
As we'd sleep the night away
I'd awake with the sun, smile upon my face
Singing a new tune as I watch you reach full bloom
Staring lovingly into my eyes, greeting me with a smile
finally, you've arrived and it was worthwhile
