Howling Universe Poem by Jeffrey Philip Clegg

Howling Universe

Rating: 5.0

Beneath the myths floating across the night sky
sparkling
I walk amongst lakes with surfaces in starlight
glistening
When eagles are replaced by owls
hovering
While wolves raise voices to the moonlight
shimmering
I watch in wonder at the shooting stars
diving
And I am brought to see the heavens
dancing -

The gift of the Big Bang
glowing

The Milky Way
showing
me
the paths to follow.

I like this even more the second time reading than the first. The long lines flowing into each like the scenery of the poem's universe works for me.
