Humanity Vs Religion Poem by Kinyua Karanja

Humanity Vs Religion

I admit that some may misunderstand me
When Pledge to be a progressive Christian
Or a humanist depending on circumstance
Though I may differ to either of rhetorician
Some of their values meet at some instance
As a christian I learned value of love
To humanity regardless of race and religions
As human duty and command from Him above
Cherishing and preserving life in all regions
As humanist I was made to believe in democracy
Free will as long as I don't hurt the other
In this I don't give damn About sex policy
Who marries or f**ks who all together
I believe in equal treatment to all persons
Despite of their beliefs and practices
We ought to be rational and use reasons
I think it's high time to embrace tolerance
To all people including LGBT classes
In future we will be haunted if we stay silence
And watch them being bullied and Harassed
Just because of their sex orientation now
Their actions has nothing to do with saved
Lets not pretend to be holier than thou
In expense of other people's life and beliefs.
