Humming Memories Poem by Leopoldo Banda

Humming Memories

Rating: 5.0

Can you remember the touch?
Do you remember that time?
We were drunk and the music was loud.
I saw you in the corner, you were wearing white
And I thought to myself I'm going to ruin my night.
But it was late and I was walking towards her.
You saw me and then I saw you smile.

Can you remember the song?
I couldn't even if I tried.
All I knew was she had to be mine.

We danced and we screamed to the sweetest melodies.
Was it me or were we making memories?
That to this day simply just won't fade.
So I'll fight so I won't forget that night

Now I'm in my home.
And I keep drinking alone.
You know, I had a feeling you were supposed to be with me.
But I guess God or maybe Fate thought that's a mistake.

Can you remember the song?
I guess it's worth the try.
And even after all this time I'm not really over her.

We danced and we screamed to the sweetest melodies.
And now I'm sure we were making history.
But now it's oveer…
And I'm left humming memories, so that night doesn't fade into the black.
