Hundredth Token Means Long Waiting!
The second when the nurse stuck the token
..in my hand saying ‘hundredth token’,
I can see the ‘diseased demons’ all along
..the reception hall in that nursing home!
In the midst of cries of patients’
..sneezing ‘ach.. ach.., coughing lok..lok..,
the siren of the ambulance with huge noise
..muffled after stumbling the ear drums!
We can’t keep the raising anger in control
..due to the long waiting in the reception hall
as if the unturned snakes of snake charmers
..in some corner of the crowd of the mega carnivals!
Even while we come down the steps with rubbing
..the bums where the injection was given, the hot feeling
still remains residually in spite of the earnest care
..of the doctor saying ‘go happily and come joyfully’!

100-வது டோக்கன்
நூறாவது டோக்கனென
செவிலிப் பெண்
கையில் திணித்த நொடி
அந்த மருத்துவமனை
முன்னறையெங்கிலும்
பிணிப் பேய்கள்
தலைவிரித்தாடுவதைக்
காண நேர்கிறது!
அச் அச்
லொக் லொக்
உள்ளிட்ட
சில அழுகையினூடே
செவிப்பறை நின்று
தாக்குகிறது
பெருத்தடங்கும்
ஆம்புலன்ஸ் சைரனும்!
பெருந் திருவிழாக் கூட்டத்தின்
எங்கோ ஓர் மூலையில்
இன்னும் பணிக்குத் திரும்பாத
பாம்பாட்டிகளின்
பாம்பைப்போல
கட்டுக்குள் வைப்பதற்கில்லை
காத்திருப்பில்
கனன்றெழும் கோபத்தை!
பின்புலத்திலிட்ட
ஊசிக்கு அழுந்தத் தேய்த்து
படிகளிறங்கிய போதும்
மிச்சமிருந்து தொலைக்கிறது
கனன்றதெனும் உணர்வு
