Hunger Of The Night Poem by soren Barrett

Hunger Of The Night

Rating: 4.0

A broken yolk behind egg white clouds
cools in night's darkening hunger
Moon's cake strewing star crumbs
sets sky's banquet table

Slow sliding shade of honey
drenches all with shadows
Craving grass salivates dew
devouring the last strings of star light

Abdominal sounds of night
pouring through gurgling streams
croaks growls and screeches
belching of frogs climb upward

On the edge of the pan of night
a new egg broken
yellowing the skillet's lip
warm meal to fill days belly
