I Am Poem by Samantha Jenks

I am the average teenager who’s dealt with more in a few years than people spend lifetimes praying not to experience. In my weaknesses I find my strengths. I don’t let the precedent laid before me guide my path. I walk where I can, I live as I may, and I do what I please. I’ve made my fair share of mistakes but haven’t we all. I have a conscience though I tend to disregard its impulses. Unlike most I learn form my mistakes though that doesn’t stop me from making more. I’m the quiet one with so much to say and so little time to speak. Who do I hope to be? I hope to be everything you’re not so that in your weaknesses you can find me. I hope to be the person that puts together the pieces of your broken life. I hope to fill in the gaps between us so that we can find our way back again. I hope to let my strength shine so you can bask in its rays. I hope to be able to give you everything you’ve ever wanted but never had. Who do I hope to be? I hope to be forever yours…..
