I Am Poem by Bishoy Sargius

I Am

I Am
I am the gem of my parents' eyes
I am the hope of my parents' pride
I am the fruit of my parents' labor
I am the hope of my parents' prayers
I am the life of my parents' fights

I am the thorn in my parent's sides
I am the coal that could never shine
I am the bird that could never fly
I am the liar with unanswered prayers
I am the reason of my parent's failures

I am the castle with its doors closed
I am the knight with the broken oaths
I am the heretic that God loathes
I am the angel that no longer floats

I am the reason why dreams die
I am the lord of all the flies
I am the reason the heart lies
I am the soul that the devil buys

I am the chill that kills the hearth
I am the famine that plagues the earth
I am the sin that mangles the heart
I am the actor who plays no part
I am the painter who has no art

I am the apology that was never written
I am the soliloquy of the ever sickend
I am the thought that's always second
I am the wrath that God had stricken
