I Am A Carrier Pigeon Poem by Yogi Sally Ann Slight

(dedicated to Cher Amie the Carrier Pigeon of WWII)

a relic from the past,
I have returned to show you,
that True Love has got to last.
For every word that's written,
and placed within my pack,
is sent on speeding Angels wings,
and there ain't no looking back.

You've chosen very wisely,
to send your Love this way,
for I'm a determined little birdie,
and nothing ever gets in my way.
I am power packed in Courage,
I am only built for speed,
I am Honest and Trustworthy
when Loves message is in need.

Only Good News I deliver,
and like my mate the Dove,
be it family, friend or stranger,
Good News always comes with Love.
So pop a note up to me,
I'll sing it so they'll know,
there ain't no battlefield or Embassy,
that's too far for me to go.

And have no fear, I'll make it,
please have no fear at all,
'cos when it comes to Love notes,
I'm protected from the Fall.
I deliver all you ask of me,
I am the Messenger of Love,
I can dodge all Cupids arrows,
sent to charm me from above!

'Cos Love's my great Protector,
In Love You can't be harmed,
so your Hero has a force field,
and can never be alarmed.
So send your Love notes to me,
and I will fly them far and wide,
and deliver their Protection,
so He'll never leave your side.

War is a great divider,
when True Love wants to stay,
but no evil can divide you,
When you take the time to Pray...
