I Am A Dead Man Poem by Ekwueme Kelechi

I Am A Dead Man

Rating: 5.0

I wish I can cultivate a white rose
To help ease the voice of solitude
That beclouds me and plays ludo in my domain
Words that untomb and fan my presence

I wish I can slip
From this office where fate abandoned me to sleep
To feel the comfort of my jewels
And drink from the echoes of their lips

Like a horse tied to a tree
I was tied to a distant Cave
To nurture the deflowered nature for free
I was left alone to dine with the grave

Is anyone there?
Can anyone hear me?
Oh! My new bride of some years
Has held me captive in loneliness

In soliloquy have I ministered
Like a pulpit
But lack sound
To make it lit

Who can remedy me?
Who can?
Just a white rose for me
Planted by my barn

I wish I can breakthrough
From the shackles of my state
And again marry my soul.
