I Am A Dreamer Poem by Rebecca Lyle

I Am A Dreamer

I am a Dreamer

I am a dreamer, people ask me why
I say because I still believe in the inherent
Good that can be found in mankind
Even though daily it is proven to me
I am so very wrong by hate crimes
Call me crazy, I still believe.

I think society can rise above hatred
I think mankind can learn they are
In need of far-reaching changes
I always have to stop and ask
Why does a person hate another
Without provocation?

I have never hated anyone in my life
I have been extremely dismayed
But I try to see through their eyes
Their eyes showed another point
Of view, different from mine
Acceptance of not judging them.

I am a dreamer, I still believe
Join me and be a dreamer too.
