I Am A Rug - Poem by Kristen Palmitier

I am a rug...
I lay on the floor for any one and every one to walk all over me.

Don't walk on me walk besides me and you will see the beauty that I bring. With all the feet and filth theres no room for beauty. So walk besides me not on me.

I am a rug

i am very much amused how you put urself in parallel
with ur metaphors. as what most of ur readers think about ur poems,
u really have powerful symbolism going on.

    keep on brewing,

You have captured the essence of value and worth and that no one deserves to be treated like a door mat. You are, indeed, a person to be respected with beauty to be acknowledged! (Report) Reply

I find the symbolism in this poem to be very powerful. Sometimes when I am depressed, I feel like this rug with people walking on me instead of besides me and fail to see my inner beauty. If only everyone viewed the world the way you do, this world would be a better place. (Report) Reply
