I Am Back Poem by Babatunde Aremu

I Am Back

I Am Back
I just went on French leave,
My portions were quickly allotted to another.
I just took a stroll,
They conspired and re-allocated my plots.
I was not seen for a while,
They shared my investments as booties.
Let the alarm sound
That the wildcat is back at home.
The mice should now cringe
Because the original owner is back.

I'm not braindead,
I'm not bereft of ideas,
My ink still flows
Ready to scribble refine lines
And sing melodious songs on paper.
There's still fire in my golden pen
To emit wisdom and knowledge.

I'm back to take my rightful place
The ram that reverses
Has gone to acquire more power.
So, get ready for new revelations.
