I Am Cain Poem by Randy McClave

I Am Cain

Hello I am Cain
You might recall my pain,
I murdered my brother Abel
Because, I wasn't spiritually stable.
I was consumed by jealousy
For my own hypocrisy,
My offering by God was rejected
I felt vengeful and neglected.
Abel's offering though was accepted
To which I contested,
Then in anger and rage I had a fit
Then with a large stone my brothers I hit.
I murdered my brother there
Without any remorse or care,
All because I was jealous
I became zealous.
God asked where my brother was
The one that I did not love,
'I am not my brothers keeper'
For him, I am no weeper.
In the heavens you can hear him cry
When I let my brother die,
My brother's spirit makes laminations
Still from all foundations.
Abel spirit now curses me, my brother
And that curse is against no other,
Until my posterity perishes from the earth
No more birth.
God rejected the offering that I gave
Now my brother is in a grave,
When both of our offerings God did judge
Abel's offering was more righteous.
I murdered my brother in a field
Where the vegetables offerings i did yield,
My brother still curses my name
I am Cain.
