I Am Depression - Poem by Bradford Middleton

I am depression
I caused Freud to discover childhood regression
Because of me Lincoln signed the emancipation proclamation
I'm the force that caused the earthquake that shock all the Haitians
You think you happy without me, but I have you fooled
Cause I control the medical corporations that supply this Prozac nation
Its me who rules, since the dawn of the contemporary era
I tricked that fool hitler into invading the Balkan nation
You might see me as a chimera, but I look just like you
My main focus is your obsession with intoxication
You may think I just pass through, But I'll ink 'depression' to the inside of your skull like a tattoo
Once you complete your rehabilitation, I'll be waiting at the bus station
From my point of view your time card is over due
So I'll sit right next to you at the station and whisper some inside information that the Obama administration is responsible for your mental incarceration and your willingness
to commit a political assassination
With me controlling your thoughts you have no follow through
So you are argue with yourself saying you can pull off the assassination
I'm a stranger who passes You the addresses of the member of the united nations
Fall into my trap, I'll show you what to do with my ability of analytical review
But before you carry out your immagination of a Prozac free nation
I'll bust down your door with the police of globalization
All too late you'll make a breakthrough that I'm out to destroy you
In you padded cell, feeding of prozac, Zoloft and hallucinations
I'll creep into your mind at the point of sedation and whisper this incantation
'I'm depression, cause of your aggression, repossession of all you have, humiliation of all that you loved, you may have some kind a interoperation because what I'm spitting sounds like a rapper imitation.
BUT NO! I'm not evil or bad I can only live when your sad
