I Am Going - Poem by Tony Adah
I am going
If I have to be a stranger
For my poetry to be read and appreciated
I am going
If I have to change my name
For my poetry to sell
I am going
If my words won't be judged by
My craft of them peculiar to me
I am going
If the outpouring of my heart
Means nothing to no one
I am going
But when I come back
I hope to meet things different
For I too have my time
Like everyone else who lived
And wrote what the world cherishes today
That time I see it
Knocking on the shutter of tomorrow.

just loved the structure of the poem, those repeating lines gave the poem a punch it needed which you nailed at the end. (Report) Reply
