I Am He Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

I Am He

I am he

Spent years in schools
Studied, taught me books
Ways of seas, trees' roots,
Now, I feel, I was wrong…

Am like him
Am like him
Am like him

I am one
Whom I called:
"Has no mind! "

In search for what is lost
"My research on Incas, "
I did what women did
In old days, for Noruz
"A winter cleaning,
To welcome Spring."

So far, have found nothing,
Only books on the books,
Cameras and albums, music.

Cleaned shelves as if are
Arses of good mullahs,
Bright and water-washed!

Heard the wastebasket's call
Heard it shout, what a shout:
"I am full, enough, stop! "

But I am brutal
See no use in knowledge.

Am like him
Am like him
Am like him

Do not want such a life!
Guess I have lost my mind!
