I grabbed my razor and my comb
Because, today I'm heading home,
I have laid out my clean clothes on my bed
And I still can't register it in my head.
I looked at my mirror once again
And I still can't shake off this silly grin,
I'm still wearing a very happy face
Which shows no sadness and no disgrace.
I have been gone for so many long years
There has been so much sadness and tears,
But, now I'm full of hope and anxiety
Because, I'm going home finally.
I know that I have been gone way too long
But, I see and I have done no wrong,
I wonder if anyone truly misses me
And I wonder if myself anyone will want to see.
Will my parents and friends still be waiting
Will my siblings still be debating,
And will my car and my boat still be clean and parked
And at me will my dogs have growled and barked.
I still remember when I left that day
And I still remember what myself and others did say,
Then when I walked alone through the gate
I then heard a voice scream, "I'll wait"!
I wonder, if she'll be waiting there
And I wonder if she'll still really does care,
I swear no more will I need or want to roam
Because, today I am heading home.
