I Am Here, Always Poem by June FeirCruz

I Am Here, Always

I never know what triggers your unkind words
Out of the blue, like lava from a raging volcano they spew from you.
There is no rhyme nor reason why you say such words to me
Nor why do I allow them to hurt me.
Since they are untrue.

You must not hurt the one we love
The very same person, you couldn't live without
The very same person whose hand you wish you hold at night.
The very same person who holds the key to your heart.

Is it fear of abandonment?
Is it fear of uncertainty?
Is it fear that you may not be worthy of me?
Be still, be calm, stay with me.

So, take a deep breath
And go to that place and time
When you feel that I love you
When you know that I care.

I am never far away from you
I am always near you.
Summon me and I am there
In the quiet of the night
In the stillness of your heart.

This poem exudes the kind of generous forgiveness that can only stem from truly felt love. The yearning to understand, the desire to give reassurance - they are all there in your words for the reader to experience. Thank you June for this insight into a beautiful world.
