I Am Lucky Poem by Francis Duggan

I Am Lucky

I am lucky in where i do live i must say
In the beautiful scenery i see every day
The birds who do sing every day of the year
The magpies i often do see and do hear
I feel lucky to be living in Illowa of this i won't lie
Though i may not be living here till the day i do die
From here my journey in life may take me to elsewhere
There is so much to see in the big World out there
As i am a fellow from a distant place
To many here mine it is not a known face
But Illowa people are nice in their way
And they always bid me a passing good day
Between Koroit and Warrnambool in the green coastal countryside
There is beautiful scenery to see far and wide.
