I Am Not Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

I Am Not

Dear Admirer,

I am not your enjoyment
if you are disillusioned
with responsibility
I am not your view of pleasure
when you consider me to be beautiful
I am not The parent to your
behavior of being a child
I am not your ideal of perfection
because i'm perfectly imperfect.
I am not going to be silent
when you express your opinions
I am not crazy because i'm assured in myself
and fight against your every wish and whim.
I am a person who is confident and
have enough faith in them-self to
not become prisoner of anyone's control.
If you think I should listen,
I will explain what makes me different,
even if it shall be scorned,
I will not allow my heart to become torn

Sincerely,
Someone who knows them-self well
and will go to war for what they believe in.
