I Am Not A Poet (R1) Poem by Asit Kumar Sanyal

I am not a poet, a technical man
Writing is my hobby,
I collect honey from flower to flower
And try to produce my baby.

I am not a poet, a learner
Eager to know what is a poem and it's rule,
My feelings play hide and seek with me
Make me sometimes a international fool.

I am not a poet, a probationer
Learning to compose poems like sweetened milk
Ask the caterpillars in the cocoon
The secret tact of making silk.

I am not a poet, basically a poem reader
Spare more time in flower garden
Sits near to the flowering plants
And ask the buds... how they open.

I am not a poet, a poetry lover
Try to express my views in poetic form
It does not match with main stream poetry
And also unable to create a storm.

I am not a poet, transform feelings into words
Try to give message to the society
Not to publish a book and its marketing
Only follow the wish of almighty.
