I Am Not The Type Poem by Francis Duggan

I Am Not The Type

I am not the type a mum and dad would feel proud to call son
But if i can live till i die without harming anyone
Then my existence will not have been in vain
Since i did not inflict on others pain,
I may well be one more forgotten man
But if i can live out my natural time span
Without harming another then i will not die in regret
Though i am one that others will forget,
In the eyes of others i am not a success
And i do not live at a fashionable address
But if i can live without too much greed
And help some poor soul in a time of need
And do not cause another grief or pain
Then my life will not have been all in vain.
