I Am The Middle Class Poem by Randy McClave

I Am The Middle Class

I am the middle class
I am the pride the backbone and the sass,
We work, we fight and we have fun
We are the ones to always to get it done.
I am also called the blue collared
We are there whenever help is hollered,
We are the soldiers of this land
And we are the ones with the callused and broken hand.
We are the next level up from the poor
Because we dreamed and we wanted more,
We will never ever be rich
Because we are the ones needed to did a ditch.
A rich man thinks that he's better than us
As we build the cars and we steer the boats and drive the bus,
We enjoy what we are doing
And we're not lying, conning or being sued or suing.
We keep our country flourishing and growing
From our building, constructing, and sowing,
And from our blood and our own sweat
We owe no man any debt.
Everything that I own or I have, I have bought or earned
Because I had dreamed and wanted and yearned,
And the day that I die
God will see a hard working middle class guy.
I proudly pay my taxes as every middle class person will do
I never hide them or evade them or give a IOU,
And I always support who my tax dollars will help
I never ever think only of myself.
I'll always help and fight for the poor and the needy
I'll never side with the rich and the greedy,
Because there is a better chance for me being poor and unhealthy
Than for me to ever being greedy, selfish and wealthy.
