I Am The Reason Poem by Ray Hansell

I Am The Reason

I wake up in the morning
Lay staring at the ceiling
It seems pain and emptiness
Are my only feelings

She went ahead and left me
Like she said she would
I would change everything
If I only could

She was tired of the lying
All the running around
But she said what hurt most of all
Was me always letting her down

I should have seen this coming
For she warned me many times
But I didn't listen
As I followed my own mind

Too late I see what it cost
The price was very steep
I literally lost everything
Even my kid's love I couldn't keep
