I AM A TRAVELLER
MATLOOB BOKHARI
O Omniscient and Omnipotent
Glorious God
Idon't want fame, wealth, luxury or alady with class.
I don't want manna raining from heaven
Idon't want to live in theloftypalaces of kings and queens
I don't wantathrone covered with ivory, overlaid withgold.

I don't want to rule over the fish of the sea and birds of the sky
Idon't want wine in gold goblets, holding inhands finer than velvet and palm softer than silk


O All- Knowing and All- Hearing
Idon't want to drink from the eternal well of living water.
I don't want the immortalkissof the daughter of Troy
I don't want songs of truth on my lipsbutinmy heart



O My Everlasting Refuge
O the All-Knowing God
I want to seek Your refugefrom Satan the rejected.
I want tobeg Your forgiveness in my secret prayers, secret tears, secret fears
I want my thoughts on the wings of airmay spread the perfume of love
I want my thoughts may give power to those silenced by whips and chains
Silenced by dogmas andsilenced by oppression
I want to swim in theendless oceanofYour love

I want the world a family, one family - let the hate go!
I want to hold Yourrope and leave all theplaces of Satan



I want to serve the hungry, homeless and naked like moon, trees and stars
I wantsoft droplets to wash awaytears of lonely boys


O Merciful! O Forgiving Lord
I wantto be a traveler; all joys are temporary, nothing lasts in this world

I want to fly to the unknown land of my fatherwith smiles
I want Your remembrancebe the food ofmysoul
I want the flower ofProphet's loveblossom in the garden ofmy soul
I want the love ofprophet's progeny shine like starry sky in my heart


O my love, O my final destination

I surrender to Your will; ask for Yourmercy
I wanttoconfess my inexcusable sins; ask for Your forgiveness

Allah! You have blessed me here in abundance
I want Yourblessing in the endless darkness
Sing Your glory in my grave withadoring air, whistling trees and gracefulbutterflies
O most Loving and most ForgivingGod
I wantmost Your forgiveness in my grave
