I Became Abel Poem by Randy McClave

I Became Abel

I love my brother as much as Abel loved Cain
I have helped him many times with his pain,
When he needed help or cash or even a ride
I was always quickly there at his side.
Whenever I could help him I always did
From him I never hid,
And whenever he needed support or advice
He would never have to ask twice.
I would never mock, spread rumors or attacked him
I would never make his life grim,
And I would never take anyone's side over his
I would not give him or any of my siblings the Judas kiss.
I would not care for a stranger more than my brother
And I would not hurt him for a stranger or any other,
Many, many times others had wanted me to
But, unto my brother always I would stay true.
My bother I would not ever harass or mock or ridicule
Him I would not ever treat like a fool,
And if I did this unto God I will continually admit
No one else would ever know or read about it.
I will not stand by an habitual liar, cheat con and sinner
Unlike my brother I won't worship that type of man like a winner,
Sadly this happened to me which is no lie or even a fable
As if the devil whispered in his ear, to my brother I was Abel.
