I Can No Longer Hold My Peace Poem by Qiniso Mogale

I Can No Longer Hold My Peace

Rating: 3.5

I can no longer be silent
I refuse to remain silent
I will no longer be silent
I can no longer hold my peace
I will no longer hold my peace.

I can no longer hold my peace
under such blatant injustice
I will no longer be silent
under such gross misconduct
I will no longer hold my peace
because there is war not peace
I can no longer sit on the fence
I can no longer be impartial
No, I can't be impartial
God will judge be for being silent
when I should have made noise
God will judge me for holding my peace
when I should have waged war.

I must fight injustice against
the marginalised and downtrodden
I must fight the abuse against
women and children
I must fight the oppression of widows
and orphans
I must fight the abuse ofmen by
bullish women
I can no longer be silent
I can no longer hold my peace.
